HEAL*THY WOMEN, HEALTHY YOU SUPPORT GROUP
Wow Ladies, we are well on our way!! We have been blessed with another meeting for “Heal*thy Women, Healthy You” Support Group. We are steadily growing and look forward to meeting more new women. We received more important information including an overall view of the most common causes of deaths in women and a mini lecture on reading labels and what to look for. A spiritual discussion on how food should not be something that has control over you was initiated and gave us something to ponder on. Next meeting on April 25th, 2011 will include one of our personal trainers who will discuss some home exercises and info on nutrition.
Remember, we do not charge for these informational sessions. You are welcome to come even if you are not a patient in our practice. Bring friends or family members and refer someone. Let’s share and spread the word that we are about to become healthier, more energetic and blessed on an even higher level. See you at the next meeting!
FINALLY! New Support Group!
After many requests, we are starting our new support group for those women who want to lead healthier lives. We will be stronger and leaner, less inches and pounds and yet more powerful. Women of all ages, come out and let us share some vital information regarding our bodies, our selves. This will include nutritional guidance as well as emphasis on exercise and increased activity in our daily lives.

VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY UPDATE……
Wow! Who knew? How many of us truly realized how important the sun is?
Just 10 to 15 minutes in the sun is all that is advised. A blood level is now necessary to determine how much Vitamin D you need. If you have adequate sun exposure, you will need to still take a Vitamin D supplement. Especially during the fall and winter months when our sun exposure is significantly reduced. The daily dose for those patients who have normal levels is 2000 IU. It probably is a good idea to increase the dose to 5000 IU during the fall and winter months when you are no longer getting sun exposure. Please have your primary physician or our office draw your blood for your current levels. If you are found to be deficient, you will need a prescription dose of 50,000 IU once a week. We repeat levels after 3 to 6 months to see if you have improved your levels.
