VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY UPDATE……

Wow! Who knew?  How many of us truly realized how important  the sun is?

Just 10 to 15 minutes  in the sun is all that is advised.   A blood level is now necessary to determine how much Vitamin D you need.  If you have adequate sun exposure, you will need to still take a Vitamin D supplement.  Especially during the fall and winter months when our sun exposure is significantly reduced.  The daily dose for those patients who have normal levels is 2000 IU. It probably is a good idea to increase the dose to 5000 IU during the fall and winter months when you are no longer getting sun exposure.  Please have your primary physician or our office draw your blood for your current levels.  If you are found to be deficient, you will need a prescription dose of 50,000 IU once a week.  We repeat levels after 3 to 6 months to see if you have improved your levels.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE……

……….His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.  John 3:16-17

I’m sure many of you have seen or heard about the TV show, “Intervention.”  Where family members and friends of drug addicts and alcoholics intervene and confront the addict.  They tell them about their concern and fear  for their life and how if they continue on the path they are on, they will face a very early death.  Most of them have children who are being damaged emotionally from the experience of watching their parent behave in very strange and unusual ways,  just a very sad and dysfunctional lifestyle.

The intervention brings an opportunity to choose life.  To go into rehab to be cleaned up and restored to a sober life.

Well, Jesus IS our spiritual intervention.  We are all sick with sin.  God so loved us that He sent His son Jesus to die in our place so that we could be saved from death.  God has always been intervening–trying to warn us, revealing himself to us, speaking to us through people in our lives, but mainly through HIS WORD.

You make the choice to believe and get on the narrow path that follow in Jesus’ footsteps or reject him which  is like rejecting rehab for an addict.  To love the world and the sin you are in,  more than you love God is the broad road to certain eternal death.

To choose life is not easy.  You may relapse at times but you must be connected with a twelve stop program. Spiritually speaking, that would be like reading the Bible, praying and building your personal relationship with God to begin receiving the Holy Spirit through baptism.  God wants to make us whole and sober us up to what our true identity and purpose is.   He is the GREAT DETOXER!

So as we look to the cross this Easter, let us reflect on the wonderful gift of salvation and be revived  and renewed and receive the healing power of His love, through Jesus Christ, our one and only Risen Savior.  Love and Blessings to you all, Traci

Psalm 139:13-16 “FOR YOU CREATED MY INMOST BEING, YOU KNIT ME TOGETHER

in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,  I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven  together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

God had the blueprint for each of our lives before we were even conceived.  His plans and thoughts of you were all laid out in His mind.  Imagine Him, the Great and Powerful God, taking the time to design every detail of your body–inside and out.  You are unique to everyone else in the universe.  That should help you to feel special.  No one–not one is a mistake, but a miracle.  God brought you into being for a special purpose that can only be accomplished by you.  The first and last days of your life were already determined.  So…when you think about God creating you, why would you then think that your life is yours?  How dare we think our plans are greater that HIS or worse, not even acknowledge Him.

In order to understand how to take care of ourselves, we need to read the master instructions, the Scriptures.  For us to learn how to love and treat one another, we need to read the instructions, the Bible.  In order for us to fulfill our purpose, we must hold on to the directions in His Word.

God Loves you so because He made YOU  so.  What a beautiful love story!  God Bless you all, Traci
