Gyne Surgery – daVinci Robotic Surgery
This less invasive method of performing traditional procedures brings shorter recovery and hospital stays to patients.
The davinci Robotic Surgery benefits are:
- minimally invasive
- less blood loss and pain
- less recovery time
- usually overnight stay in hospital
Advocate South Suburban Hospital is one of the few hospitals in the south suburbs offering this state of the art technology. Dr. Anoina was one of the first of several doctors at the hospital using the daVinci robotic surgery system for gynecological procedures.
Dr. Anoina helped to pioneer the daVinci Robotic Gynecology Surgery Program at Advocate-South Suburban Hospital. She is currently the most experienced gyne robotic surgeon at her hospital and has successfully completed over 200 cases since March 2009. She now proctors new surgeons who are training and is continually updating her skills and knowledge by attending advanced training courses.
The daVinci Robotic Surgery Program is used for a range of gynecologic conditions which include, but are not limited to hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cysts, cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse and menorrhagia or excessive bleeding.
Unfortunately, not every woman is an ideal candidate for this type of surgery. A thorough gynecological exam and special imaging studies such as pelvic ultrasound, CT scans or MRI may be necessary to make that medical decision. Please call the Dr. Anoina’s office to make an appointment for your assessment if you are in need of surgery or you are having gynecologic issues that may require surgical intervention.
